All four children of Brad Pitt have changed their last name
It seems that the trend of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's children distancing themselves from their father's last name continues.
According to reports from American media, Maddox, the 24-year-old eldest child of the former couple, has officially requested to have "Pitt" removed from his last name. If the court approves this request, his name will change to "Maddox Chivan Jolie."
This decision is not particularly surprising for many followers of the Jolie-Pitt family. Earlier this year, Maddox was introduced in the credits of Angelina Jolie's new film as "Maddox Jolie" and did not use the full last name "Jolie-Pitt."
Maddox was adopted by Angelina Jolie from Cambodia in 2002. Four years later, after his adoption was formalized by Brad Pitt, the last name "Jolie-Pitt" was given to him and the other children of the family.
He is not the first child to make such a decision. Shiloh, the couple's daughter, legally removed "Pitt" from her name in 2024. Zahara has also introduced herself publicly as "Zahara Jolie," and Vivienne has used only the last name "Jolie" in some artistic projects.
This news comes nearly two years after the lengthy divorce proceedings between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were finalized; a couple that had been one of the most controversial and newsworthy figures in Hollywood for years.
Currently, Maddox's name change request has not yet been approved by the court, and the legal process is ongoing.
