The comprehensive insurance solutions provider, Orient Insurance, has expanded its war risk insurance services in the UAE, adding coverage for cargo, personal vehicles, and residential units as companies and residents seek broader coverage against geopolitical and operational risks.

This new range of insurance products is designed for importers, exporters, logistics companies, freight forwarders, homeowners, and vehicle owners who want more insurance coverage against damages or disruptions caused by war, sabotage, strikes, and riots.

What do the new coverages include?

The new portfolio includes 'Marine War on Land' insurance, which covers cargo and goods exposed to war-related risks during land transportation.

'Marine Cargo War Risks' insurance also protects marine cargo against war risks and related hazards. Additionally, 'Political Violence Including War for Personal Vehicles' insurance will cover damages to personal vehicles caused by events such as war, sabotage, strikes, and riots.

The company has also added 'Political Violence Including War for Residential Units' insurance, which provides homeowners with coverage against damages resulting from such incidents.

Why might companies seek additional coverage?

The introduction of these services comes at a time when awareness of risks has increased among companies that move their goods through regional and global supply chains. Companies based in the UAE involved in import, export, and freight transportation typically rely on several stages of transportation, including maritime routes, port operations, road transport, and warehousing.

Coverage for UAE residents

These new services extend coverage for war and political violence risks to ordinary individuals, offering specific products for personal vehicles and residential units.

Thus, this insurance package will be useful for residents who want their assets to be covered beyond standard home or auto insurance.

Omar Al-Amin, Chairman of Orient Insurance Group, said:

“The economic goals of the UAE are built on trust; trust in systems, institutions, and our collective ability to manage risks effectively. As trade flows grow and the risk landscape becomes more complex, Orient is committed to ensuring that businesses operate without facing unnecessary risks and that individuals and families have the support they need to live and work with real security.”
