Access to water and electricity bills and services via ChatGPT for Dubai residents
Dubai residents can now access their electricity and water bills and use the services of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) through ChatGPT. This initiative is part of the effort to expand the use of artificial intelligence in the UAE.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority announced that subscribers can inquire about bills, account details, billing information, and other services through ChatGPT. There is also access to the locations of electric vehicle charging stations, navigation to the nearest station, customer service center information, working hours, and communication channels.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority stated that it is the first government entity and the first public utility company in the world to offer its services through artificial intelligence platforms. DEWA announced that more services will gradually be introduced in accordance with its governance, security, and privacy framework.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, CEO of DEWA, said that the company is moving towards becoming the world's first AI-based public utility company. He added that the launch of DEWA services through ChatGPT enhances the organization's role in providing advanced smart solutions and improves customer experience.
Statistics show that the use of artificial intelligence in the UAE is rapidly increasing. OpenAI reported that the number of ChatGPT users in the UAE has tripled over the past year. About 60% of residents aged 18 to 24 and half of residents aged 25 to 34 use ChatGPT every week.
