Continuation of Distance Learning Until April 17 Due to Ongoing Attacks from Iran on the UAE

The decision includes public and private schools, as well as kindergartens and childcare centers.

Distance learning will continue across the United Arab Emirates at least until April 17, and will be reviewed weekly thereafter.

The Ministry of Education confirmed this decision in a statement released on Monday evening.

This decision applies to “students as well as administrative staff in all kindergartens, preschools, and public and private schools across the country” to “ensure the safety and health of all individuals,” the ministry announced. It was also emphasized that “this situation will be reviewed weekly.”

Previously, at the beginning of March, the government mandated all schools and universities to switch to distance learning due to missile and drone attacks from Iran. Schools and universities were also instructed to start the spring break one week earlier, from March 9. Since then, schools and universities have been operating online.

Since the onset of these attacks, the UAE's air defense systems have intercepted 425 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,941 drones.
