Claims of «Extension of Distance Learning until May 1» in the UAE denied

 

The Ministry of Education of the United Arab Emirates rejected reports regarding the extension of distance learning until May 1, stating that this information is «incorrect».

 

This entity emphasized that any decisions related to education will only be announced through the official channels of the ministry.

 

Currently, distance learning is in place across educational institutions in the UAE for students as well as educational and administrative staff until April 17.

 

When schools in the UAE transitioned to online education this year, the process was much smoother compared to the COVID-19 pandemic period. To ease conditions for families, the Sharjah government also announced flexible remote work for female employees with children in schools or nurseries.

 

The Ministry of Education initially made distance learning mandatory from March 2 following Iran's attacks on Gulf countries (including the UAE). This measure was extended until Friday, March 6, after which officials announced that the spring break would start earlier.

 

Subsequently, virtual education was extended until after the spring break to prioritize the safety of the educational community amid the regional tensions involving the USA, Israel, and Iran.

 

While officials continuously monitor the regional situation, any updates will be communicated through the official channels of the schools.
