Reopening Global Village; A Guide to an Affordable and Economical Entertainment
You don't need to spend a lot of money to enjoy Global Village. With a little planning, you can spend hours eating, shopping, and exploring without emptying your bank account. The entrance ticket price is also relatively cheap: 25 dirhams on weekdays and 30 dirhams on weekends. This amount grants you access to one of the most attractive seasonal attractions in Dubai.
Prepare smartly before you go
If you plan to shop, bring a trolley or a wheeled bag with you. The rental fee for a trolley inside the venue is about 15 dirhams per hour, and it can add up if you stay for a long time. It's also better for families to bring their own stroller, as renting one costs around 20 dirhams. This simple act can save you money.
Bring water with you
With a lot of walking and relatively warm weather, you'll definitely need water. It's best to bring water from home. However, there is a small shop near the VIP entrance that sells water for about 1 to 2 dirhams, which is cheaper than most stalls.
Eat cheaply
Food is one of the most attractive parts of Global Village, but you don't have to spend a lot on it. In the 'Floating Market' section, you can find inexpensive snacks like corn on the cob, chestnuts, popcorn, and pizza slices. You can also eat before you go and just grab snacks inside the venue.
Shopping and bargaining
There are over 30 pavilions representing 90 different cultures in this venue. From handicrafts and jewelry to abayas and home decor items. Bargaining is quite common, so feel free to ask for a lower price. If the price isn't right, you can walk away. Usually, sellers offer more discounts towards the end of the season.
Take advantage of free entertainment
A large portion of the entertainment at Global Village is free. Various performances from around the world are held on the main stage, including Bollywood dances and K-pop, as well as cultural shows. There is also a special theater for children featuring magic shows and fun performances. Fireworks are held every Friday and Saturday at 9 PM. Even walking between the stalls is an entertainment in itself.
Free parking
If you're driving, you can park for free in certain areas:
• Parking P1, P3, or P5 near the Gate of the World entrance
• On busy days: P7 to P11 (about 1 kilometer from the cultural entrance)
From these parking areas, there are free shuttles or rickshaws available for about 10 dirhams.
Use RTA buses
If you're not driving, you can use the seasonal RTA buses that go directly to Global Village. These buses are comfortable and cheap:
• Route 102: from Al Rashidiya station
• Route 103: from Union station
• Route 104: from Al Ghubaiba station
• Route 106: from Mall of the Emirates station
Buy tickets online
To avoid queues, it's better to buy tickets online. You can show the digital ticket on your phone and enter directly.
